	Comments: One of the earliest known recordings of the show This is from the workshop when various forms of the show were tried out so it only features the songs and a few scenes with a narrator filling in the stage directions and settings for the audience. A lot, if not all, the songs featured here are different from how they would eventually end up in the show and there are also noticeable differences in the plot yet the over all tone, is just how it would become. 	Comments: Near perfect, excellent recording of one of the final previews of the show before it officially opened on Halloween (when else) with the original Broadway cast in fine voice. 	Tech Details: Video Act1: 412kbps, 29fps, 352x224, Video Act2 611kbps, 29fps, 480x384 - Aspect ratio Full screen / 4:3, Audio 64kbps, 32000hz, 2channel, Running time 88 + 64 =152 mins Comments: Single camera shooting from the balcony to stage right Clearly filmed in digital the clarity comes through nicely even in this compressed form, at least in the picture. The sound, however, has been very slightly over compressed and therefore, does have a slight whine in places. but the extremely enthusiastic crowd makes up for this. as does the quality of the performance/s especially during "Popular". and problems with the pink rose that just won't stay on!! First five minutes or so, of Act 2 are missing. This was scheduled to be Idina's last performance but she was unable to do it due to a cracked rip so instead it became Shoshana's last performance as understudy Idina does however appear (out of costume) instead of Shoshana, during the resurrection scene which brings the house down and clearly was a complete surprise for former New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre as Fiyero who was also on last performance. Unfortunately the video ends just as the tributes start to Idina. 	Tech Details: NTSC, Full screen / 4:3, MPEG, 142 mins, Authored, Song Chapters, Menu/s Comments: Single camera filming from the balcony, to stage right Footage is quite distant and wonders around, especially at the start although soon settles down as the show goes on. Occasional 'hidden' moments. Some washout from the spotlights, especially on the long shots, but otherwise good. Sound is great throughout but is muffled whenever the camera is hidden. The Chapter split is a little unusually as it tends to be around the various scenes, rather than the songs themselves. Anyway, it's a great performance with Megan on wonderful form. 	Tech Details: NTSC, Full screen / 4:3, MPEG, 137 mins, Chapters Every 5 mins Comments: Fantastic recording of Kerry's first Broadway performance. Single camera filming from the balcony on the left. Crystal clear video, with some of the closest close ups you're going to see. There are a few, very brief cover ups, but nothing drastic. The sound is also near perfect although there is some chatter presumably from the filmer, and his partner but it isn't too distracting. Kerry is, as always, better than perfect. 	Tech: NTSC, AC3, 68+65mins, Menu, 5min Chapters Comments: Single camera filming from the left side of the stalls/orchestra part way to the back. Good clear view of the stage with some great close ups, some nice mid shots but no full stage views. Occasional heads in sides of the shot, but nothing terrible also a few cover up moment but nothing that last more than a few seconds Sound is near perfect. The DVDs are split to even out the time, so the end of Act 1, is on DVD2.
