Comments: First night of the legendary blues tour. as partly featured on the official "24 Nights" DVD Even the DJ explaining what's happening doesn't detract from the brilliance of this show. From EC calling out cord changes to RC stepping in seamlessly when BG breaks a string in the middle of "Five Long Years" The stereo mix is even so good you can  actually tell who is playing which solo or riff...

Eric Clapton [w/ Jeff Healey] 1st Alpine Valley 90 Alpine Valley, East Troy, Wisconsin, USA 25/8/90 AU 9 2CD

Comments: Great show from the first of two nights at the venue the second of which would lead to the sad death of Stevie Ray Vaughn. For this show however, Jeff Healy joins Eric on stage, for some manic soloing during "Crossroads" and on into "Sunshine.." However, no one, told Jeff about Ray Cooper's percussion solo, so he keeps on going when the rest of the band stop, until literally, EC takes the guitar from him...

Eric Clapton BBC Belfast

Odyssey Arena, Belfast, Northern Ireland

24/4/04 FM/MP3 10 2CD

Comments: Should have taped this myself but forgot (whoops!) Still this a great sounding version of a great performance Just a shame the BBC were a little late starting - or EC was early - so we miss a bit of the first song but still at least the DJ shuts up quickly. The two song encore with Robert Randolph sitting in was not broadcast and is therefore not included here.

Comments: Someone has put a lot of work into this by removing almost all the extensive DJ chatter between songs (this is also the reason "Layla" is split into two tracks - the DJ talked over the middle!) The edits are so fine you may not even notice them.

Line Up: Eric Clapton - Guitar, Vocals, Doyle Bramhall II , Derek Trucks - Guitar, Chris Stainton , Tim Carmon - Keyboards, Willie Weeks - Bass, Steve Jordan - Drums, The Kick Horns: Simon Clarke, Roddy Lorimer, Tim Sanders on Brass, Michelle John , Sharon White- Backing Vocals Guest Robert Cray - Guitar (*)
