Welsh Opera star Bryn Terfel's "Brynfest" festival, held for the ninth year
including a Musical Theatre night broadcast live over BBC Radio Wales.
This year John Barrowman headlined, but the previous nights had suffered from poor weather
leading to Bryn himself catching a sore throat and pulling out at the last minute
(guess you can do that when its your festival) leaving the show to run short.
Joining Barrowman are two contestants from the BBC talent shows he judged.
Daniel Boys from "Any Dream Will Do" and now staring in "Avenue Q" in the West End,
and Jodie Prenger who won "I'd Do Anything" to star in the new production of "Oliver"
(opening Dec 2008) and about to go into the ensemble of "Les Miserables".
Also on the bill is Welsh opera star Shan Cothi who was also at the first ever Faenol
and played the lead in "Phantom of the Opera" for over a year in the West End
and was due to duet with Bryn on songs from the show.
Strangely, one of the stars of last years show, the Welsh west end star, John Owen Jones,
was only used to co-present the radio broadcast, and perform some of the interviews. He doesn't sing.
